that awesome hunk of steel in the picture to the right is all mine! i drove out to cedar park to test drive that beautiful brit in the freezing rain. it is in the shop getting a bit of work done. considering it is 30+yrs old it was in pretty good condition. click on the pic to see all that needs to be done (i've annotated the heck out of the pic)

the rod brakes on this bike are crazy cool, but the only problem is it is missing a bolt for the rear brake. the front brake works great. i'm having the the repairs done at a local bike shop, but unfortunately they didn't have the right size bolt. so my bike is sitting up at the shop 'til we can find something to fit. here is a pic of the missing bolt.

i haven't found a stamp to help date the bike but i read on various sites that say if the sturmey archer hub is original it can be helpful when trying to figure out the general age of the bike. mine is dated 77.

Blai said...: whoops! didn't notice anyone commented. nope it wasn't a nutcase. i thought i was being smart and ordering a multi-sport helmet. it turned out to look ridiculously big on my head. nutcase is the perfect fit for my head. i still need to buy one

what, you didn't know pixies existed? well you can thank the USPPB (United States Pixie Prison Board) for that. pixie’s have a somewhat mischievous nature and love to play tricks on the human populace. we do not intend to capture these little creatures just for playing practical jokes; however there are times when they cross the line and we cannot look the other way. according to the international convention on pixie, social and cultural rights treaty signed in 1804; hiding objects such as keys, socks, etc. are not punishable acts of criminal activities. pixies can only be penalized for offenses committed which endanger the lives of the public. we believe that we are heading in the right direction due to the significant drop in the pixie related crimes.

the pixies normally work anywhere from 1 to 2 hrs a week on the pixiepower blog. the jobs range from uploading pictures, checking spelling, testing links and answering email. from time to time they get a little restless and like to play havoc on this site. they are normally not reprimanded for this behavior unless it gets out of hand.

by visiting this site you are helping a pixie find their way again! so visit often and encourage them to stay on the right track. let them know it is just as fun to help us as it is to trick us. leave a comment here and there and let them know what a good job they are doing. power to the pixies!
